Vakko is owned by the Hakkos, a wealthy Jewish family who have lived and thrived in Turkey for generations. Vakko uses an Israeli architecture firm for its building projects including its flagship Vakkorama store in Istanbul, even though there are very qualified Turkish architects. This leads to questions about what other business they are doing with Israel. Vakko CEO Cem Hakko also owns Power Media radio in Turkey, which could potentially influence its listeners with a pro-Israel bias.
